Helping students viewing their courses in Blackboard:

Many students have not been able to view their courses in Blackboard. Here is a list of their common problems. Click on the link to find a step by step guide to solving the problem.

- I can only see the announcements listed in my Blackboard, where is the rest of the course?
- I'm unable to see the course menu when I click the link to my course
- How do I set LaGuardia as my primary school in the CUNY Portal?
- I forgot my CUNY Portal credentials
- How do I reset my password in the CUNY Portal?
- How do I change my e-mail address in Blackboard?

Also, many students have created multiple accounts in the CUNY portal. Some of you are trying to access the portal with invalid applicant accounts or you have been enrolled in your courses by CUNY with an account that does not have LaGuardia school as affiliation.

If you are a student who are having problems viewing your courses in Blackboard, please stop by B127 Software Support Center to be manually added to your courses.

09/26/12 - Important message for all Blackboard users:

The most important factor in using Blackboard is making sure that you have the right browser version. Blackboard supports all newer stable versions of Chrome and Firefox. Users should consider downloading the two recommended browsers. When encountering a difficulty using Blackboard, before contacting technical support, please try your action in another browser. Often times just switching browsers will resolve the issue. Especially while using Vista/CE, if you are unable to view discussion postings, quiz windows, and download links, then you may need to disable the pop-up block.

Blackboard Alert!

Blackboard 8.0 is officially retired! The URL for Blackboard 8.0 now points to Blackboard 9.1. The Spring 2012 courses and organizations active in Blackboard 8.0 will be brought over to Blackboard 9.1 between June 21st and July 31st. This message is a reminder of earlier announcements sent to the faculty via Groupwise. See earlier announcements below in this page.

Dear Colleagues:

CUNY has been live on Blackboard 9.1 for a few weeks now, and the time has come to take our next steps toward completing the upgrade project. As always, more information regarding Blackboard 9.1 at CUNY is available at www.cuny.edu/blackboard.

Access to Blackboard 8.0 will be taken offline on Friday, June 15th at 2 AM.
Blackboard 9.1 will be unavailable for approximately one hour beginning at 2 AM on Friday, June 15th in order to update the URL and to enable SafeAssign in the Blackboard 9.1 environment.
6/15: The access URL for the production Blackboard 9.1 environment will change once Blackboard 8.0 is retired, with Blackboard 9.1 assuming https://bbhosted.cuny.edu.
6/15: SafeAssign will be made available in Blackboard 9.1.
6/19 – 7/31: Spring Session I 2012 courses are upgraded and migrated to Blackboard 9.1 on a rolling basis.
