LaGuardia Community College Hosts Transportation Careers and Internship Fair
for Women and Girls on March 12
Long Island City, NY—February 27, 2014—LaGuardia Community College’s Small Business Transportation Resource Center is hosting on March 12 a Transportation Careers and Internship Fair for Women and Girls. “Women in Transportation: Moving Forward,” is part of the US Department of Transportation’s Women in Transportation Initiative (WITI), which encourages young women to pursue careers in transportation.
The two-part event, which will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., will consist of a panel discussion by women leaders in the transportation industry, followed by a networking session between women and girl participants and Human Resources professionals from governmental agencies, private sector firms and nonprofit agencies. The fair will be held on the College campus in the Poolside Café at 31-10 Thomson Avenue (corner of Van Dam Street), Long Island City, NY 11101.
