  • About Us

Welcome to the Foodservice Management Program (FSMP) at LaGuardia Community College. You are beginning an exciting journey into the world of culinary management that can provide you with opportunities that are limited only by your imagination.

This website provides information on the policies relating to the FSMP. Students will receive additional information as they progress through the FSMP. Course specific materials will provide more detailed information relating to individual courses.

This website is not all inclusive but is designed to supplement the LaGCC Catalog, LaGCC Student Handbook, and academic advisement provided by the faculty and Health Sciences Academic Advisors. Students are referred to LaGuardia’s college policies located in the LaGCC Student Handbook and in the current LaGCC College Catalog. Additional general information related to advising, transfer, financial aid, and other information to support student success is located at the end of the FSMP e-Guidebook.

    The Foodservice Management Program:

The FSMP combines classroom learning with internship experience and is offered through the Department of Health Sciences. Graduates of the FSMP are granted an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

The foodservice industry is the third largest employer in the country and it is growing. The industry employs 11 million people. Challenging and rewarding careers are available in foodservice management and the current demand for trained, entry-level management employees is strong.
