The Development Department – Office of Alumni Relations promotes, develops, oversees and coordinates opportunities which engage alumni. Working with internal LAGCC offices, CUNY, the LAGCC Alumni Association and other external organizations, the Office of Alumni Relations strives to foster lifelong partnerships with LaGuardia Community College alumni through:

• Communication - LaGuardia Connections enewsletter, mailings, phone-a-thons and social networks.
• Programs - Continuing and professional education courses, student mentoring opportunities, and job and internship placements.
• Engagement - Alumni networking events, in-class presentation opportunities and reunions.
• Support - Philanthropic support for student scholarships, programs and resources through the LaGuardia Community College Foundation.

Provide Support via LaGuardia Community College Foundation
Alumni and their contacts can help current students who are struggling to pay tuition and other college expenses by making a gift to the LaGuardia Community College Foundation. Student Recruitment
The Recruitment Office conducts information and recruitment sessions throughout the year at local and regional high schools. As graduates of LaGuardia, alumni play an instrumental role in recruiting prospective students at college fairs by providing first-hand experience on the work of the College and how obtaining a degree at LaGuardia could benefit their career and personal objectives. Internship and Cooperative Education Experiences
The College maintains relationships with hundreds of businesses which have offices in the NYC area. Students searching for internship and Cooperative Education experiences can gain insight into their fields of interest by participating in these programs. Alumni can play an important role in expanding the College's efforts in these areas by 1) providing the College with an introduction to their companies 2) providing current students with internship and Co-op experiences. Career Advising and Networking
Alumni can provide career advice, networking experience and guidance to current students by partnering with LaGuardia's Career Services Center. The firsthand knowledge and experience of alumni will be helpful and informative to current students who are considering work in similar fields.

Volunteer
The Development Department – Office of Alumni Relations schedules fundraising and “friendraising” events throughout the year. For LaGuardia’s 40th Anniversary in 2011, the Development Department – Office of Alumni Relations created the LaGuardia Community College 40th Anniversary Special Edition Alumni Directory. Alumni from the classes of 1973-2010 were contacted to update information to be included in this volume which was sold and distributed by Harris Connect. Initially available through Harris Connect for a limited time, remaining copies may be available through our office directly.
