  • Dance, Music and Theatre

Dance, act, perform, direct: the spot light is on you. The Performing Arts Programs allow students to develop performance-based skills through a combination of classroom training and theatre experience. Students participate in classic and modern plays, musicals, performance pieces, developmental readings, and student productions. Students develop the ability to analyze, critically assess and document theatre through rigorous courses in theatre history, dramatic analysis and observation of the contemporary New York theatre scene. This balanced approach to the A.S. in Theatre degree provides students with the knowledge to pursue a career in performance or production (acting, directing, designing, playwriting, stage managing, producing) or a scholarly career (critic, dramaturge, historian, teacher).
