Always dare to do more
LaGuardia faculty demands more of themselves and their students, both inside and outside the classroom. Our faculty have raised the bar for their peers at two-year institutions: fifty-four percent of LaGuardia faculty hold Ph.D.s, twice that of community college faculty across the nation.
Their vision and leadership extends beyond the classroom, into a wide range of subjects, from literary theory to medical entomology, increasing the knowledge base in their fields of expertise with their scholarly publications and research.
This website showcases the publication achievements, research presentations and professional accolades of faculty at LaGuardia, and provides links to existing College resources that aid their writing, research and publication efforts.

Meet Dr. Ana Maria Hernandez
Professor, Education and Language Acquisition Department

An irreverent work influenced by the British sensation novels and the French romans à clef, Fantoches blurs the boundaries that separate fiction from reality by featuring writers as characters and by incorporating analytical essays into the plot. The inclusion of digressions about Cuba's African heritage anticipates the mature works of writers and artists from the thirties such as Carpentier, Guillén, Abela and Enríquez. Read more...
