    Arriving at the Jacob Javits Center


    The ceremony will take place June 6, 2013, and will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and will end at approximately 12 p.m.

    Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. and use the entrances on West 39th Street or West 40th Street along 11th Avenue. There, commencement marshals and volunteers will direct you to the graduate robing area in “The Link” to prepare for the ceremony.

    Your guests should go directly into the Javits North Hall and take their seats. Doors open at 9 a.m. Get directions to the Jacob Javits Center.

    Academic Attire


    Herff Jones, our supplier of academic attire, will be on campus the following dates, to measure and distribute graduate gowns.

    Please arrive with a non-refundable cash payment of $34, and expect to be helped on a first come, first serve basis. You will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony without proper academic attire.

    Please keep your cap and gown as a souvenir.

    Please be advised that backpacks will not be allowed in the Javits Center. All bags will be subject to search.

    Admission Tickets


    You will receive three (3) General Admission tickets when you pick up your academic attire.

    Graduates requiring more than three (3) guest tickets may contact the Office of Student Life and Development at (718) 482-5190.

    Portraits

    Thorton Studios will be taking graduation portraits 5/29 10 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. location:E-111, and 5/30 10 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. location: E-111, No appointment or payment is necessary at the sitting but do expect a wait time of approximately 30 minutes.

    The photographers will have only a cap and gown for you to wear during the shoot. Find more information on preparing for portraits, requesting the free DVD yearbook and purchasing mementos in the FAQs.

    Programs
    Commencement programs will be handed out to family and friends as they enter the theater. You will find your commencement program on your seat inside the theater. See the Program.

    Graduation Cruise - Tickets are sold out.
    All students, staff, faculty and family and friends of graduates are invited to the Graduate Cruise, which will depart on Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m. from Chelsea Piers. Limited tickets are available for $35. Download the flyer.
