Hello, everyone. This is Kate
speaking. I’m very glad to be an API tutor this semester for
pre-calculus. Well, I am quite a busy person, I take many
classes and frequently go to the library. You can also
sometimes find me in the fitness center, swimming pool or
yoga classroom.
I also like talking to people and making new friends. Some
people think we should only make friends with exceptional
people so that we can be positively influenced by them. But
in my opinion, we should make friends with different kinds
of people as much as possible. It does not matter who our
friends are, but what kind of person we want to become. It
is our own strength of mind that ultimately decides who we
become. Making friends with people from different cultures
and backgrounds provides us with a new way to see the world
and helps us find out who we are. For me, dealing and
interacting with different people is such an interesting
experience that sometimes when I am with new people, I feel
like I am inside a novel.
I think this is why I am deeply interested in business.
Advertising myself, persuading people, thinking of new
ideas, important parts of business is so much fun for me. If
I stop here, you probably think I’m majoring in business,
but haha, I’m a student in Environmental Science. I love
nature , science and exploring how things work .If you think
about it, we live in a really amazing world. How come outer
space looks so much similar to an atom? Does the earth we
live in appear to be an atom for another significant world?
Perhaps the atom is another tiny earth? I am eager to
discover the unknown world.
Well as you can see, I am interested in so many things. But
I have made up my mind to concentrate in one area,
environmental science. My future plan is to study in this
area, and design a new applied system for protecting the
environment. I always think. What will I be five years from
now? I cannot foresee the future, but I am sure that five
years from now I will be more mature, be more specific in my
goals, better understand the meaning of my life, and be
closer to the person that I want to become.
At last I want to say, one of the ideas I like most is
expressed in this American saying, “Aim high, dream big.” I
believe the first essence of a person who wants to be
successful is ambition . Start with a dream, set up a goal,
and then make a plan, step by step, get closer and closer to
the goal, so the dream can come true. What are we waiting
for? Let’s do it!
