MARLENE DOCKERY

 

Hi. My name is Marlene A. Dockery and I am from the tropical island of Jamaica . This is my fourth semester at LaGuardia Community College . My road to get here has been very rough. My brother Michael A. Cowan, passed away on March 21, 2007 during my first semester at the college. On my return to school I had a big gap in my lessons and it was very difficult for me to catch up. The enormity of heart-felt pain that I was going through did not help much. Knowing that the workload was large, I wanted to quit school. When I expressed my feelings to my father, he gave me a lecture reminding me of who I am and what I represent. In addition, he told me and that I was a hard working, persistent, and dedicated person. On hearing his advice, I decided to stay in school and work diligently so that I could complete my studies for my future career.

This takes me to my new adventure, becoming an API tutor for AMA 111, The Principles of Accounting 1. I have taken a vow to be the best tutor that I can be and I know that I will work hard to achieve this goal. Thank you for visiting my page and I hope to see you in the classroom and in my sessions.
